This class is recommended for all filmmakers who are ready to go out and make a feature with whatever resources they have available to them right now. The class offers a broad overview of Production, Post Production and Distribution, with the focus on a series of ideas that encourage filmmakers to throw out whatever old templates they may have on the filmmaking process. The approach taught asks filmmakers to look at their specific circumstances—their limitations and their resources—and develop their script and filmmaking technique from that, essentially reinventing the moviemaking process to suit their unique situation.

No-Budget Film School instructor Mark Stolaroff, a native Houstonian, is an independent producer and a founding partner of Antic Pictures, a new LA-based production company producing a slate of low budget, high quality digital features. Currently, Antic is in post on its first project, True Love, developed in the 2003 Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the third feature from acclaimed director Henry Barrial (Some Body). Stolaroff also recently co-produced the feature documentary Paper Chasers. Stolaroff has lectured on low budget and digital filmmaking throughout the world and at many of the major film festivals. He has taught film classes at UCLA Extension, the Maine Film Workshop, and The Learning Annex and has written for Scientific American, Filmmaker, Sight & Sound, and Film Festival Reporter.

Special guest speaker will be Texas filmmaker Jacob Vaughan. Jacob will talk about his no- budget feature "Dear Pillow", which he and filmmaking partner Brian Poyser produced, shot and edited for $3800.The film was nominated for a Spirit Award last year and has received critical acclaim nationally. Jacob recently directed "Cassidy Kids", which premiered at SXSW this year and was financed by Burnt Orange Productions.
